    Applications

Do you know that we can use the atmospheric radiation background to study volcanoes, prospect for minerals or how the power grids can be disturbed by Solar activity?

In this lecture, you will learn about some of the possible applications we are developing in LAGO in geophysics.

    Muography

Muography is a non-invasive technique for scanning anthropic and geologic structures. Its applications cover several fields: container inspection, archaeological building scanning, nuclear plant examination, nuclear waste monitoring, underground cavities, overburden of railway tunnels, and volcanology. The measured flux or atmospheric muons traversing the studied object gives information about the inner density distribution of the structure.
